MIL-DTL-29183C
4.5.7 Stacking test. Three distribution panels of the same type, class, and configuration
shall be stacked, one placed on top of the other, without the use of any intervening load
distributing material. The distribution panels and covers shall show no evidence of damage as
specified in 3.8.5.1.
4.5.8 Type II and sound level test. The distribution panelboard sound level for type II
only shall be tested as specified in NEMA ST 20, except that the distribution panel shall be
considered as the noise source instead of the transformer, and, where applicable, all
measurements shall be made relative to the distribution panel instead of the transformer. The
sound level shall conform to 3.8.10.2.
5. PACKAGING
5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified
in the contract or order (see 6.2). When actual packaging of material is to be performed by DoD
personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain
requisite packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the inventory
control point's packaging activity within the military department or defense agency, or within the
military department's system command. Packaging data retrieval is available from the managing
military department's or defense agency's automated packaging files, CD-ROM products, or by
contacting the responsible packaging activity.
